This Christmas, Adapt Worldwide are going #Selfieless
Sometimes, all it takes to brighten someone’s day is a good old bear hug! Earlier this week, Adapt Worldwide went on a mission to spread the love one hug at a time, with some help from our very own cuddly panda! Taking over Oxford Street, Piccadilly Circus, and Leicester Square, the Adapt Panda was embraced by hundreds and hundreds of happy huggers.
Adapt committed to donating £1 to the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) for every single hug that was given on the day. Thanks to the brilliant work of the WWF and its growing community of supporters, panda conservation efforts continue to grow, as does the population of threatened giant pandas, but there’s still a lot of work to be done. Every little bit helps in a huge way, and, after 180 minutes of hugging, we were able to raise an outstanding £376! That’s a whole lotta hugs all for a fantastic cause!
The quest was Adapt’s own contribution to Canon’s latest incredible campaign, #Selfieless.
“Every day the world takes millions of selfies. But here’s the thing… it’s the season of goodwill. A time when we should be turning our lenses around and focusing on others.”
In partnership with the Red Cross, Canon’s new campaign encourages us to go out and perform good deeds, while inspiring others to do the same.
You too can get involved in the movement – all you have to do is get out there and spread some kindness, then share the story on social media using the hashtag #selfieless. This is the season of giving, and one small act of kindness can make a huge difference for those who need it.
